Ulster Strong Commemorates WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION WEEK March 3-8

"Young girls need to know it’s ok to be smart, strong, and not to fear a challenge so that when they grow up, they can use those skills to advocate for themselves as well as other women beside them. As a WIC, I have found this to be particularly important. Building in a man’s world is hard, but if women continue to empower and support each other, brick by brick we will rise to the height of the tallest tower!"

Val Dwyer

President & Treasurer

AROLD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

Building and rehabilitating infrastructure since 1973

“Growing up in a construction family, it has been such an honor to carry on my father’s business and to become a second generation business owner. As a woman, I feel I’m able to offer a different perspective to the industry that traditionally did not exist, and I feel like our employees and customers appreciate that perspective.”

Women in Construction Week (WIC Week) is commemorated March 3-8th, and celebrates and promotes the role of women in the construction industry. The first Women in Construction celebration was held in 1998 and has grown and expanded each year since.

Ulster Strong honors all  Women In Construction for their hard work and dedication that continues to shape the industry for the better. It's also time to bring attention to the expanding opportunities available to women in construction, as well as raise awareness of the challenges women face in the industry.

Ideas on how to celebrate Women in Construction Week:
